Two days in the sublime Rila Mountain and Ribni Lakes - with the largest glacial lake in the Balkans - Smradlivoto lake and Pogledets peak! A trek for connoisseurs :)

Day 1

As usual the gathering point is at the Vassil Levski stadium, and the drive takes us near the Rila Monastery (the largest monastery in Bulgaria). Our trail follows the Rilska river in the foot of the towering Dvuglav peak (2606m). The fragrance of the forest makes our heads spin. The landscape changes: after the forest belt, we pass through creeping pine to reach the alpine level. We take a steep trail to go to the Smradlivo lake. It is the largest glacial lake in the Balkans, and its beauty and magnetism will reward us generously for our efforts and the detour. In another hour, we reach the Ribni Ezera lodge, where we spend the night. For the more energetic lovers of the mountain there will be a hike in the area.

Elevation gain/loss - up 800m; down 200m. Total hike - 6 h

Day 2

Today we will enjoy the ascent of one of the most rarely visited and interesting peaks in the mountain! The breathtaking views make us happy that we are part of this beauty. We will climb the mythical Pogledets peak, and as its name suggests (in Bulgarian) it offers magnificent views! While descending, we pass by the Kobilino Branishte shelter, nestling in the middle of nowhere. We marvel at the views of the Malyovitsa cliffs. Once we reach the forest, we are to walk for one more hour along its wondrous trails to the bus. These dear memories will bring us back to Rila.

Elevation gain/loss - up 700; down 1400m. Total hike - 8-9 h

• To join the excursion, please fill in the Reservation Form, which you can find in the Main Menu. We will do our best to respond you at our earliest convenience!
• You can pay in cash or remit a bank transfer and we will issue to you a cash receipt or respectively an invoice according to VAT Law (art. 113 and art. 114)!

Important!

• In case of sudden change of the meteo conditions or other unforeseen situations, the guide may stop the group from the planned trek and to change the direction depending on the conditions. He proposes another trek, agreed with the tourists!
• In the case of dense fog or slippery terrain the guide may change the trek to ensure the health of the tourists!
• The treks are forbidden for tourists with heart diseases, problems with the legs and other dangerous contions for the mountains!
• If the group is more than 10 tourists there is a second guide, which doesn't change the price!
