9 days in the Austrian Alps - harsh and green beauty and alpine traditions! Days full of unique alpine attractions (the Dachstein panorama gondola, the Olperer Bridge, the Skywalk, the Ice Palace, the Stairway to Nothingness and 2 magnificent peaks - Muntanitz and Rettezink); we will also visit the town of Hallstatt - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will enter the heart of the Austrian Alps, and in the evenings we will enjoy walks, fresh air and delicious food. Memorable panoramas and unique natural wonders! Much more than you expect.

The Austrian Alps are not inferior to the Swiss, French or Italian Alps, nor even to the Dolomites! Although they don't pass the 4,000 m mark, the landscapes are amazing, and postcard-like. The chalets and hotels are top of the class, not to mention the infrastructure. All this is a precondition for a memorable trek, where we will blend leisure, exertion activities, bohemian and carefree moods! We will visit some off-beat trails and spots; glaciers, sharp alpine ridges, combined with lush valleys and meadows underneath. We opt for airline travel to avoid the summer traffic jams along the motorways.

Itinerary:

Day 1

International flight and transfer to Hallstatt with local car rental. (4-5 hrs)

Day 2

It is barely our second day, but so many emotions overwhelm us – a gondola takes us to 2700 m above sea level to visit the Dachstein suspension bridge, the Skywalk, the Ice Palace and the Stairway to Nothingness!!! We will walk on the surface of the Dachstein Glacier to nearly 3000 m above sea level and we will admire memorable panoramas not only to the Austrian Alps, but even to Czech and Slovenian mountains! The total hike for the day will not be more than 2.5 hrs, so we’ll have plenty of time for pictures and rest. :) Overnight stay at a hotel in Hallstatt.

Day 3 

Breakfast and departure towards Zell am See (2 hrs). We start our hike to Mount Maurerkogel. The gondola takes us up to the Schmittenhöhe and our trail starts at 2000 m above sea level. From the very beginning we enjoy fantastic views. At the top we will have a snack, we will rest well with the views and we will return along a circular route.

Elevation gain/loss: +500m/-500m; 10 km - 3.5 hrs. Overnight stay at a hotel in Zell am See.

Day 4

Breakfast and short transfer to the town of Kaprun. It is time for our first serious hike. Rettenzink Peak (2505 m) – a sensational peak and breath-taking panoramas, far away from the crowds!!! We go back to the same hotel for the night.

Elevation gain/loss: +1500 m; -1500m. 8-9 hrs hike.

Day 5

Breakfast and drive (2 hrs) from Zell am See to Kals am Grossglockner. Another exceptionally beautiful and varied hike to the Sudetendeutsche hutte /2650 m/ awaits us, which again will not be very easy. :)

Elevation gain/loss: +1350 m; -400m. Hike 7-8 hrs (about 11 km.)

Day 6

This is the Big Day in our journey - climbing the supreme peak of our visit to the Austrian Alps!!! With those in good shape, we will climb Muntanitz peak (3232m) which offers perfect views to the neighbouring 2 highest peaks in the area - Grossglockner (the highest peak of Austria) and Grossvenediger!!! :) The final metres are steep and pass through a via ferrata. Elevation gain/loss: +750 m; -750m. Hike for the day - 5-6 hrs with breaks.

Day 7

We descend into our cherished civilization surrounded by a number of peaks and shifting landscapes! Many out-of-this-world beauties that will bring us closer to complete delirium!

Elevation gain/loss: +300m/-1600m; Hike 7-8 hrs (about 12 km.)
Afternoon transfer (3 hrs) to make one more dream come true - the Suspension Bridge opposite the Olperer glacier! :)

Day 8

Breakfast and circuit to the suspension bridge. Ultimate delight for the soul without much strain! :)

Elevation gain/loss: +700m/-700m. Hike 5 hrs (about 12 km.)

Transfer to Vienna. Overnight stay in Vienna.

Day 9

Flight to Bulgaria.

Reservation for participation and payment:

• The registration should be done latest at 15.05.2016 with an advance payment of the half amount. 
• To join the excursion, please fill in the Reservation Form, which you can find in the Main Menu. We will do our best to respond you at our earliest convenience!
• You can pay in cash or remit a bank transfer and we will issue to you a cash receipt or respectively an invoice according to VAT Law (art. 113 and art. 114)!

Important!

• In case of sudden change of the meteo conditions or other unforeseen situations, the guide may stop the group from the planned trek and to change the direction depending on the conditions. He proposes another trek, agreed with the tourists!
• In the case of dense fog or slippery terrain the guide may change the trek to ensure the health of the tourists!
• The treks are forbidden for tourists with heart diseases, problems with the legs and other dangerous contions for the mountains!
• If the group is more than 10 tourists there is a second guide, which doesn't change the price!
