Two-day hike in the Rhodopes - Chervenata stena reserve and its landmarks - the Slivodolsko Padalo waterfall, Ahmetyova Dupka cave and Popa peak coupled with Thracian sanctuaries Karadzhov Kamak and Krastova Gora! A weekend of grandeur, mysticism and spirituality!

Day 1

As usual our gathering point is at the Vassil Levski National Stadium, at 7:00 a.m. We set off to Assenovgrad and our first stop is at Bachkovo. We visit the second highest waterfall in the Rhodopes famous for its beauty - Slivodolsko Padalo! The uphill hike in the Chervenata Stena reserve (the Red Wall reserve) takes about 1.5 hours. In the afternoon we go down and continue to the village of Dobrostan in the minibus. There we enjoy more encounters with the reserve as we relish the panoramas from above. We have a look at the Ahmetyova Dupka cave and climb the scenic Popa peak. After these breathtaking views, we have a beer and barbecue and spend the evening in a local luxury guesthouse.

Elevation gain/loss: up 500 m; down 500 m. Total hike for the day - 6h.

Day 2

Sunday will offer strong spiritual emotions as we visit two sanctuaries - two of the peaks of the so-called Sacred Triangle - Krastova Gora (Cross Mount) and Karadzhov Kamak (the Karadzhov Boulder). Our hike starts at the village of Mostovo and goes through a marverllous, enchanted forest! The reference to Krastova Gora as the Bulgarian Mount Athos is well-deserved! This place can only humble you. From Krastova Gora we continue our hike to the out-of-this-world landmark - Karadzhov Kamak - one of the most mystical and beautiful places in the mountain! We marvel at the two huge and impressive cliffs and the enormous boulder stuck between them. The hike takes about 1h. Having recharged our batteries over those two days, we are grateful to the Rhodope Mountains for the magic. Now we know a getaway from civilisation where we practice humility and find our free spirit!

Elevation gain/loss: up 600 m; down 600 m. Total hike for the day - 5-6 h

The price covers:

• A licensed mountain guide
• Mountain insurance
• Accomodation in Dobrostan
• Transport from/to Sofia

The price doesn't cover:

• Meals on the way or in the hotels

Reservation for participation and payment:

• To join the excursion, please fill in the Reservation Form, which you can find in the Main Menu. We will do our best to respond you at our earliest convenience!
• You can pay in cash or remit a bank transfer and we will issue to you a cash receipt or respectively an invoice according to VAT Law (art. 113 and art. 114

Important!

• In case of sudden change of the meteo conditions or other unforeseen situations, the guide may stop the group from the planned trek and to change the direction depending on the conditions. He proposes another trek, agreed with the tourists!
• In the case of dense fog or slippery terrain the guide may change the trek to ensure the health of the tourists!
• The treks are forbidden for tourists with heart diseases, problems with the legs and other dangerous contions for the mountains!
• If the group is more than 10 tourists there is a second guide, which doesn't change the price!
