"Plitvice Lakes" has been declared as a national park in Croatia in 1949. And 30 years later included in the World Heritage List of UNESCO. It's located about 160 kilometers southwest of the capital Zagreb. The lakes are situated in a step (terraced) at an altitude of 503 to 639 meters, among them fall magical waterfalls! The upper lakes are located on dolomitic base where surface erosion creates highly uneven topography and common river valley. All around these lakes and partly in the area of waterfalls there is a fairy forest. The lower lakes are smaller and shallower, located on a limestone base and are located in the canyon of cliffs carved by the river. The composition of forests dominated by beech, fir, spruce and pine. In the area Chorkova Uvala in the northwestern part of the park is preserved virgin beech-fir forest with unique tree species. Among the diverse fauna can be found small game, wild boars, deer and permanent residents of the park - bears, wolves, wild cats and trout in the lakes. In this region are more than 120 bird species, 70 of which nest here permanently.
Julian Alps are part of the Alps, between the rivers Socha and Sava, the greater part is in Slovenia and the rest is in Italy. The highest peak of the mountain is Slovenian Triglav - 2864 m. It is built of mesozoic limestones and dolomites. Here are the 2 karst lakes Bohinjsko and Bledsko. The mountain is characterized by its steep and vertical peaks, deep valleys and scarce vegetation - all characteristics that distinguish them from Bulgarian mountains. Their highest peak is lower than bulgarian leaders, but it rises almost 2000 meters above Alajev dom hut (1500 meters vertical wall)! For comparison - Vihren peak/2914m/ rises to 1,000 meters above Vihren hut and the its wall is about 460 meters! The sumptuous look of the Julian Alps attracts thousands of tourists, but it's nice to know that the climbing of Triglav is a real challenge - absolutely forbidden for tourists with fear of heights, as well as those have small faith in their hands, because there are rocky sections to overcome by metal wedges (via Ferrata) and steady hands are needed and also at least basic climbing skills! Of course, we will take absolutely no risks - at every dangerous areas will be tied and secured! The strongest of us will be awarded - spectacular views of 360 degrees at a dizzying precipices to 2000 meters below us! :) The expedition is categorized as an Intermediate level, so we do not expect to sign up only climbers! :) Those who have a strong spirit and a desire for miracles and challenges will succeed!
